Project Management Agreement March, 2016
Following is the "Greensboro-Randolph Megasite Project Agreement" between the three parties who currently have ownership interests in the project: Randolph County, The North Carolina Railroad Company, and the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite Foundation, Inc.
This Agreement is dated March 7, 2016. It was formally agreed to by the Randolph County Commissioners after the March 7, 2016 public hearing at which the question of Randolph County's participation was discussed. After nearly five hours of hearing, and voluminous objections from those who will live around the proposed site, the Commissioners voted 4-1 to accept the Agreement, with only Commissioner Allen opposing. Commissioner Haywood voted for the Agreement, as did Chairman Frye. They were joined by Commissioners Lanier and Kemp who were then each defeated in the Republican primary election. Each will therefore be leaving the Commission after November, 2016.
